Italian player Fabio Cannavaro holds up the World Cup trophy as the Italian football team arrived at Pratica di Mare airport, 35km south of Rome, a day after Italy won the 2006 World Cup in Germany against France. Romans lost themselves in festive frenzy as the Italian capital threw a massive welcoming embrace around the World Cup and the men who wrenched it so dramatically from the festival of the world’s top footballing nations in Germany.
